Cursor

AI & data league · enshrined Aug 28, 2026

The AI coding agent frames its interface shots inside 19th-century landscape paintings — parchment ground, oil-paint vistas, product windows floating in the foreground. The calmest page in the loudest category of software.

The citation

While every other AI company reaches for particle fields and gradient plasma, Cursor sets its agent windows against pastoral oils: a Mission Control panel drifting over a river valley, a CI-fix automation hovering in front of grazing cattle. The parchment page behind them is nearly empty — one headline, two buttons, a logo row — and the contrast makes the software look like the most modern object in the room, which is the entire trick.

The induction is for art direction as positioning. The testimonial wall (Stripe’s founder, Karpathy) is typeset like letters to the editor; the changelog gets dated entries like a field journal. Everything says: this tool is an instrument, not a spectacle. In the year of maximum AI noise, the confident quiet of this page is a competitive act, executed with taste.

The colorway

Five swatches pulled straight from the screenshot. Each pennant leads to its colorway.

The mark, for Cursor

Fly it on Cursor if you like — it points visitors back to this plaque. The banner stays up either way.
