Inductee No. 009

Polestar

Automotive & transport league · enshrined Aug 28, 2026

The electric-performance brand that designs its website like it designs its cars: unpainted surfaces, enormous quiet type, and three verbs — book, view, find — where other automakers put configurator noise.

The citation

Scroll past the panoramic-roof hero and the page does something almost no car site dares: it sets “Book a test drive / View offers / Find a retailer” as three lines of huge, plain display type on a white ground. That block is the whole conversion strategy, and it looks like a poster. Around it, the cars are photographed from above in gray lots and rendered in profile on white, model names and lease terms set small and exact.

The induction recognizes an identity built from restraint at industrial scale. Automotive marketing defaults to lens flare and adrenaline; Polestar’s site holds Scandinavian neutrality across offers, charging guides and a wall of financial disclosures — even the fine print is typeset with care. When the quietest page in the showroom is the most recognizable, the design team is doing championship work.

The colorway

Five swatches pulled straight from the screenshot. Each pennant leads to its colorway.

The mark, for Polestar

Fly it on Polestar if you like — it points visitors back to this plaque. The banner stays up either way.
